Other than you not getting a bird, I think that's a really awesome hunt! Regardless of the outcome it seems like you had quite a bit of excitement! :tu:

Thanks for the story man! Brought us along. This game isn't always about the killing, I really enjoy the camaraderie of sharing the prep and hunts, highs and lows with guys that are just as into it as I am. Nobody around me hunts birds with a bow (I don't blame them), but none of them can really feel the frustrations and excitement that we as bow hunters get to feel.

Well it's getting close to the weekend, and this is the weekend I'm taking my boys out hunting with me. They're getting really excited and already said they're ready to wake up real early to get to the blind on time haha. We still have a few birds around on the last set of pictures we pulled, so I'm really hoping to have some birds come into the field for us since they haven't seen any yet while out hunting with me the last 3 years.

So this morning was 3:00 am wake up to ace enough time to hike back about a mile to where they were roosted last weekend. Packed in a tripod, ground blind, 3 decoys, camera, bow, and a back pack full of goodies. When we finally get in the field is all grown up with the recent rain and waist tall, we dropped our fan somewhere along the walk in, the camera gets set up and o wait... it's dead. To top things off they are now gobbling over where we sat last week.

Didn't see any turkeys this morning with the boys but we did come across this little guy while walking around.

Never seen anything like tha before in my life...the boys thought that more than made up for not seeing any turkeys! We'll be back out this evening to try again.

Definitely! Get the crushed crackers, mix the egg and milk, salt and pepper. Make sure the grease is hot! Let's eat!

Well this is the last morning a can hunt. Not shaping up to be a good one. Just ran into another land owner. Came right up to the blind just to ask me if I had permission to hunt. SMH.

Seems to be really good to me az. I can tell that I need to come hunt out there with you as a guide for sure. That last bird, in the cow pasture, appeared to have some real nice spurs on him.

    Congrats on the video!!

That last bird was mine! I had a pretty good year so far for the spots I have to hunt are more for deer hunting. Hoping next year I'll be able to pick up something that more turkey friendly!
