Alright, so I've only been on this site for a month or so........ But Newb? How the heck do I get that skunk cover scent off my back? Personally, I think it's all Justin's fault. He seems to be a trouble maker, teases Todd all the time, and then there's that Devils Grin of his....... You know he's up to something....

Hello to all & I'm from Upstate NY - Not a city guy. ( thought I'd introduce myself & that might help remove the Newb lable). Anything is worth trying!

Glad you jumped into the open as your true self..... "NEWBIE" qs.

Join in the conversation and who knows but just maybe you'll be able to get beyond the whole newbie thing. :)

    ENJOY!!!!!!!!!

Ok Elkboy.....:) Just keep on a laughin. I've posted a few times, both new threads and commented on some others....been there done that. I've even picked on Justin!

At age 48 (47 & 3/4 to be precise) and have shot for a long time...... The words JUNIOR & Newb should not be associated with me name. Not looking to be a grizzled vet or a senior member but C'Mon MAN!

    So now WHAT?

So you've been a member for 4 months & not a junior any more but still listed as Newb? See that just seems wrong

Southeast Ohio? I have a friend in Pickerington (outside of Columbus). Tough hunting out there if using public land. But he did shoot a good one this year! To bad he was deep in, no ATV, darn thing went down a steep ravine, had to call his fiance to help and still didn't get home till after 3 am.

I think you the "newb" title changes to "junior member" when your post count hits like 50.

Welcome! Your JR/SR member status is based on how long you've been a member. The Newb, weekend warrior, die hard, etc are all based on post count. :tu:

Hmmmmm, let's see. MY status doesn't list me as a "SENIOR MEMBER", I don't mind putting my age out there for others to see. Ummmm, I probably should stop there or elkboy Oooops elkguide will fling a few NAP's (or his choice) of broadheads at me.

You know what they say.... "It's all in good fun, until someone shoots their eye out"

Thanks Fitz! Finally someone with some actual info..... But the ribbing I'm taking is completely understandable as a Newb! Better than what my Father referred to as the "Muck Hole". We won't go there, my PTSD will flare up.

By the way, when I saw the episode of you going across the lake to get to your hunting spot.... My Father and I used to do the same and camp there for about a week. I was planning on taking my son there for a hunt or two this fall and I'll post a pic.

I lived for a couple of years in Columbia SC and have always said that if I had been smart, I would have taken the job in Charlotte - as I'd probably still live there today. When I moved to SC, that's when my hunting & shooting stopped. My own fault, and not gonna push it on someone else.... well I'll blame the X !

Do you still come back to NY to hunt? Some of the really smart guys that moved south bought lifetime hunting licences, before NYS got smart and required a NYS address.

I've fished but not hunted NYS since leaving. Southern tier always had annoying rules anyways, so I never went back. Our once rural farm hunting spots have long since been converted to suburban neighborhoods and strip malls.
