Looking for a little insight on a new adjustable bow sight . Would like to have a couple fixed pins with 1 adjustable pin. I've looked at the: IQ Hunter pro Trophy ridge react trio Black Gold Ascent verdict Anybody have a favorite or a different sight that fits this bill. I hunted with the HHA 1 pin for the last couple seasons , but got burnt this past rut trying to change the yardage on a buck chasing a doe. Any insights would be appreciated Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I know it doesn't have fixed pins, but I would take a look at the HHA sights. They have done me very well.
Take a look at the Spot Hogg Fast Eddie with Dual pin. I tried to switch back to multi pins this year after shooting a slider and found it harder to go back. The second pin is not adjustable but could give you a second reference for "pin gapping". Mine is 20 and the second pin is 2 inches high at 40. So ping gap for a 30 yard shot is close enough to smoke one. Good luck.
I would get a MBG Ascent Verdict,if you order it off the website you can get a custom on with anywhere from 1 to 7 pins.
Thanks. I like to practice at long range i.e. 60, 70,80 yds. to make the shorter shots seem easier. With the Spott Hogg is there any way to practice long range shots with the 2 pin system ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I am leaning a little toward the black gold ascent Trying to make final decision Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I have never used any of the Spot Hogg sights before. With the 2 pin system ...say you have one sight at 20 and one sight set at 40. When you move the slider does the distance of the pins move to 40 and 60 , then 60, 80 etc... Or does it work differently than this? Thanks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I just switched to the IQ hunter pro, it has 2 fixed pins and one adjustable pin. I like the combination I have 20 and 30 yards fixed and the zero stop for the adjustable at 40 yard. So while I'm hunting I have a pin for every range I need without cluttering the sight picture and yet can adjust out to 100 yards to have fun at the range. I also really like the IQ part I used a 5 pin IQ lite sight last season and love the retina lock. The rest of the sight is solid, micro tool free adjust etc. So this sight had my key requiements, retina lock, adjustable pin, with quick up close option and tool free micro adjustment. Now just waiting for a Gobbler to come within range of my 40 yard adjustable pin. Clem
I have the MBG sight with 3 pins. I have it set up with 20, 30 & 40 yards and use the 40 as the floater. That way if I'm tree stand hunting most of my shots are under 40 so I don't have to worry about ranging and adjusting. It's a good sight and would buy it again. It was between the MBG and the Spot Hogg Hogg Father when I was purchasing a few years ago. I really like the yardage tape that MBG has.
Yes. My tape goes out to 100 yards. The top pin is a traditional slider with the second pin used as a reference so you can squeak a little more than 100 yards out of it.
