Better to shoot and miss than to not be able to get out at all.

    Luck will be better later

Think the same decoy set up and position will work tomorrow morning?

Lol, don't ask me. I have very little knowledge about turkey hunting. Especially setting up decoys.

The single turkey I ever got a shot at was a stalk and ambush system. Probably a lot of dumb luck involved too.

    Good news and bad news.
Good news: I checked my cameras yesterday afternoon and have a good Tom, plenty of hen activity. Downloaded pictures and put sd cards back in.
Bad News: Between 4pm yesterday and 5am this morning, someone seemed to have needed them more than me and relived me of them.
I have never had a problem until the two neighboring tracts sold, I can't say it was them, but it's awfully convenient.

Well I'm all packed up and getting ready to head out to my lease to see if we can spot any birds. Tomorrow morning is opening day of my 5 day season here. Hopefully I can finally get my first bird

Good luck! I didn't see anything this morning. Although, I was 5th ting on top of a hill and at the bottom of it on the neighbors 2 nice gobblers were killed I was watching one through the bun is when he went behind a tree and boom. He didn't come back out.

They got two of them. Makes me pretty mad every time I think about it, but I have plans in the works. One in my corner area and one over my food plot. Makes me sick to think what they may do to my plot or stands come this fall.

Back to the birds, seems they have been tricky so far for everyone. The guys I have talked to around here are saying they are being pretty quiet. I have not heard too many gobbling in my area, and from what I have heard in Kentucky, they have been quiet. Stick with it, I think the cool weather is throwing us for a loop, all the greens are starting to bloom, hopefully, it gets good this coming weekend.
I'll take a few hours of watching nature over sitting at work any day.

***Side note, are any of you guys good with C programming??? I have a final project and am having trouble figuring it out.

Well, my late morning hunt was a bust today. The only gobbling I heard was coming from the neighbors property.

Sorry for the lack of participation fellas I've been so busy with work and family hadn't even been able to go out and chase a single bird I did however go scout day before yesterday with little sign of anything so my last resort is to go at it on public land. Congrats on the hog max Petros!!! I'm gonna go out this Sunday and see what I can track down

I'm surprised at how varied seasons are regarding starting time, length, etc. We have one member that is almost done, others that haven't started yet and everything in between.

It's seems a lot different than deer seasons that all seem to run about the same. (give or take a week or two)
