Perhaps, but most big mature bucks I see pics of have a "squint" to their eyes. That's a trait of a mature buck.

I agree, but it just looks like something is slightly off with the eyes. Like there's too much hide above the eye. I think eyes are probably just about the hardest thing to get right. Comparing to this example, the eyes just seem off to me. I don't think the mount looks terrible by any means, it just looks a little off I think.

This. That would explain the "weak jaw" look and the ear position too.

I know jack about taxidermy but I will say that in my opinion it does not look like the deer in the trophy pics....i don't say this to offend your nephew at all but i would be disappointed if that's what I picked up after 14 months from an award winning taxi......the detail is not there at all

He is upset, but he is in Malone NY....he's a Trooper. He is coming down in 11 days....he called the taxi and he told my nephew to bring it down if he's not satisfied and he will see what he can do...

Can they exchange the form? I don't think so

Could be redone but it would be a while to do it I'm sure.

Make no mistake, taxidermy is an art.... It takes a special kind of person to do "great" taxidermy work.... I personally am not one of the people who worry about cost when it comes to mounting a deer.... The deer is going on my wall, everyone that comes into my house will be looking at it.... I want to best my money can buy...

Other guys think a mount is a mount and they are happy with sub par work, and get huffy when the cost of a mount is $400.... Again, thats not me... If that were my deer..... After, getting released from jail on bond (from beating the tar out of the taxidermist), I would demand my money back.... I also question how "great" his other work is, after looknig at that deer.... I am very particular about my mounts, but some people arent

There is ^^ your answer Tony. Beat the **** of out the guy.

Seriously I think violence over a deer mount is a little bit much, but that's just me.

That mount isn't going to win any contests, but I think it's nothing to over react over.

I've seen many mounts posted here over the years, and this is by no means near the worst. That deer could use more detail around the eyes, but there's really nothing terrible about it. I certainly wouldn't go to jail over it. lmao

The major thing was the beating him up thing, but the other things were the questioning of his other work after looking at that mount and how particular you are with mounts while some aren't.

We are obviously particular... And I posted this as a concern. I stated his previous mounts were excellent... So we can deduce that I have at least some discernment with a good mount vs a bad mount...

Never mind...I'm just aggravated and the beating the guy up thing made me respond with the stupid comment...apologies
