checked my camera today and all of my bucks are now shed. that one eye has horns out there somewhere and I have to find them.
So I'm pissed. Arrow hit the near side shoulder. The 2 blade Rage blades did not open all the way and were stopped dead by the shoulder blade and bent the tip. Got about 1 in penetration and the broad head ripped out at contact with the first branch the arrow came in contact with as the deer was running away. Mind you this shot was at 10 yds, not some crazy shot. My Muzzys would have punched through and passes completely through and been laying on the ground on the other side of the deer at point of impact. Second time this has happened to me in 2 years, last shot was 20yds. Going back to my tried and true Muzzys!!!!!
Needles to say no deer, no blood and now it has a pretty good flesh wound and a small hole in its shoulder blade. Rage will be getting a letter and their bent broad head.
On stand probably for my last sit of the season, it ends tomorrow and don't think I will get out. Ton of tracks all around my stand in the snow. Going for a doe or buck tonight!
No luck tonight, I guy hunting a couple hundred yards from me shot a buck tonight. He hasn't went to look yet, just giving it some time.
I can start one up again once we get closer to the season. I know that a few here have seasons that open in early August.
