I used a Scott caliper release, the type you just hold with your fingers, for many years. I just changed to a Carter Insatiable 2+ this season. Never had a complaint about Scott at all. I just wanted to see if there was a difference. Let me tell you. Old habits are hard to break!!
Just because you've been doing it one way for years, doesn't meant that you need to keep on doing it that way!
That is why I changed. It sounded better and from all I have seen/done so far it is much better. Much more comfortable than before. Trial by fire.
Often archery equipment is insanely overpriced, because most guys think the more they spend, the better. When I look through archery catalogs I don't know whether to chuckle, or cry, that some guys actually buy these "latest/greatest" items. You are smart to limit yourself to under $100, there are some excellent releases in that price range. Same with sights, no way I'd spend $300 on a sight when an under $100 sight does the exact same thing. I have the same release and sight for over 20 years now, and the deer die just as dead now as they did when they were new.
I just ordered another release yesterday, I have now spent enough money on releases that I could have bought another high end bow. My problem was finding one that fits me instead of me trying to adapt to the release - trying to make it work. I think my Spothog Wiseguy is pretty good but it is too short for me. I also have a nice Vaportrail 4 Finger release that feels very good but I think I'm better off hunting with a wrist strap so I ordered a Scott Mongoose XT - buckle, swivel head. I should have bought a swivel head from the start. You can get a Wiseguy for under $80, Vapor Trail for under $70 and I found a good deal on the Mongoose -$63.
My feelings exactly. I'm looking to upgrade from my 3 pin Fuse sight to a single pin. I don't feel it's necessary to spend $300+ on sights such as the HHA Kingpin or Hogg Father when there is the Optimizer Lite that can be had for a little over $100 on eBay and serve the same purpose. But then again I'm also a tightwad. But back to the topic I have a Scott Little Goose that is great and was around $60ish.
Best release for the money? I heard a guy once say that his wife divorced him and took everything he had, then he said it was the best money he ever spent. Does this qualify? I have a Carter X2 and love it. It wasn't cheap but sooo worth it.
It takes a special kind of hate to keep making lewd comments and insults about people's children. This will be a better place when you are gone. Hopefully, sooner than later.
Hate is an accurate description. You want to troll me, don't be surprised at what you catch. I made it clear several weeks ago that you should leave me alone.
You comment on this thread with the specific intent to troll me and then cry about what you get. Nothing on topic. Nothing useful. Just trolling. Take those country clubbing alligator tears somewhere else.
So, you can call me a d-bag, but I am not allowed to respond or I get threatened. Got it. I'm sure that makes perfect sense to you.
