It's a great looking bow no doubt, but my Chill X is lighter and faster so I think I'll be waiting until next year. That is, unless I upgrade from my ChillR to have the extra ATA...

You are correct in that the Chill X is lighter and faster. This bow will tune easier and be more stable. I can almost promise that. I love my Chill X's but this will be an improvement in my eyes. As a pure hunting bow, the Chill X might be the better option but that depends on the shooter. As a dual purpose or 3D/Target bow, the Halon X will be better. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I agree it will be more stable than the ChillX due to the riser in the very least, but as far as tuning goes I'm not sure it could much easier than my ChillX. I know some have had some difficulty though (I must of been lucky). Its still an AVS cam system, and as far as I know still uses top hats right? FWIW, I love Mathews bows and this one looks great too. I am considering making my Chill X my full time hunting bow and replace my Chill R with the Halon X. I'll shoot it for sure- I really liked the Halon 6 I shot.
Without going into great detail, the wider limbs will resist twisting, shifting, etc more than the limbs on the chill X. Which should mean that you shouldn't have to use the top hats as much. Only time will tell but I have high hopes for it Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
