To avoid high jacking someone else's thread to get my questions answered. I thought I would strart from scratch. For those of you that use a gopro for filming hunts how do you turn off the beeping? Also what do you suggest using for a mount?

Press the Mode button until your reach the Setup menu (cog icon). Select using the Shutter button. Tap on Mode button until your reach the Beeps menu. Select Off.

I use either the head mount or attach to stand. If attach to bow there is too much vibration after the shot

Thats what I was wondering about tbe vibration. As far as head mount goes im not sure I would trust blindly pressing the correct button.

I'm a little late on this.
I attach it to the headband strap, then I use the Android App to do all the turning off and on, it also helps to adjust which way the camera is facing.

A friend let me use his for pheasant hunting this weekend. I was disappointed in that the bird was just a speck quickly out of site. Is there a better lens I can get if I were to invest in one. Video quality was amazing.

Somewhere on my YouTube channel I did a video showing different options for mounting a go pro for archery hunting. I showed how it was mounted and then the go pro POV

foodplot, can you tell me more about the app? My husband started using his gopro this year and missed his first kill because he didn't push button correctly.

The app is for iPhone or android. The gopro sends out a WiFi signal that your phone connects to. You can turn the gopro on and gives you a view of what the gopro is seeing

I'm not sure if all Go Pros are WiFi capable. Your Go Pro has to be WiFi capable to use the App.

the app is amazing. I used it for little league soccer and Disney world. the bad thing about turning on the wifi is it's an absolute battery killer to the GoPro. I was thinking about getting a clip of some sort and mounting it to the bill of my hat; however, I don't want to look stupid. lol

All GoPros are wide angle lenses, so zooming isn't really an option. What you see is what you get.

I have a hero 3+ black edition, it has 3 field of view settings, wide, medium, narrow. I use the head band mount slightly on the left of my forehead so when I'm drawing it's aimed straight at the deer. Medium works decent. Narrow is better but you have to make sure your camera is pointing correctly as the field of view is less, but objects appear closer. Medium gives you more room for error on what your recording. Wide makes the deer look far far away. Shot a doe with it at 30yds on medium view this year. Video looks nice on the TV. Also set it to one touch video mode if you have that. Then you just have to hit the on button one time and it starts recording. I find using the app on stand burns battery to fast for my liking.

Sorry guys/gals, work is getting in the way.
You can get the app from the play store.
Good/bad thing about it is when your phone screen goes blank, like when you are on bowhunting.com and wait a while till the phone goes blank, when you light the screen back up again it immediately connects to the GoPro and powers up the camera.

I have mine set to 1080 with medium field of view. Also turn it on Loop. It will record 5 minute blocks for 60 minutes. It breaks down the clips into 5 minute areas for easy searching and viewing. After 60 minutes it will record over itself.
