I'm trying to leave but can't. Beautiful day, nice and quiet and the cows even left me alone.
A bit too warm for any midday activity though. I know they're bedded all around me right now and it makes me angry

I know, you're not helping. It's 64 here, and even though it's November in Illinois, not feeling too confident.
I got a 4 hour drive home that I'm not looking forward to

well sad to report after waiting 15 hours I was unable to recover the buck I shot last night. not barely any blood on the arrow. looked to be front leg hit. he laid down a few times but had little blood in his bed. I tracked him for about 500yds in the snow til the blood ran out. he was jumping logs and showed no signs of dragging his front leg. I honestly this deer is ok but he will be a little sore. my broadhead didn't have any bent blades so I don't think I hit any bone. I guess i'll get ready for the next phase of the season. good luck to all that are still hunting!

Had a shooter at 30 yards but decided not to take the shot because of brush between us. Two yards closer and it would have been a dead deer.

I cut up a hind quarter today. Putting a 5-6 lb slab of meat on the crock pot along with some carrots and cream of mushroom soup. Should be good by morning.

Over 5 hours without seeing a deer. Hope I am right and there is just more hour of this left. Otherwise it is going to be a long 3 hour drive home.

Meh, chili without beans is meant for hot dog topping. This isn't the night before a morning hunt type of meal
