Well guys, I haven't been on because I had hunting to do. Connected tonight on a nice buck.I will score him in the next few days. I'm guessing 125 or so.

I came so close tonight. I had my five year old son with me in a blind that I only really hunt when I take him with me. The blind is located in a pretty good spot, I just prefer to hunt out of a treestand. With the sunny 65 degree day we had I thought it would be a perfect night to take out the little guy.

Right around 5:00 a doe came walking through looking real suspicious like she was being followed. A few minutes later a real nice 120'ish 8 point showed up waking the same trail as the doe. He was on a mission, and when I finally got him to stop his vitals were obscured by a large vine and some other small branches. I sat there at full draw for a minute hoping he would move in some direction that would allow a shot. It never happened.

We still have a shot guys! Im determined to get a doe down personally. I will only have 2 days to hunt PA for a doe these coming days off. First week o rifle in my county is buck only. I will hopefully sneak up to NY a time or 2 and try my luck there also. I am not a fan of late season, but I want some sausage and snack sticks, and bought some warmer clothes, so I plan on hunting till I cant anymore in PA and NY. So hopefully will get us another 50 points and me some meat. And we still have plenty of guys with buck tags ready to fill them! Its not over for a while. Good luck to those still out!!!

decided to tag a doe the other day...post #221 in the score thread...however, looks like it said "ENTERED" but my name isn't shown on the 1st page either so I'm not sure if it's score or not?...but anyways, I'm still hunting for that buck....had 2 does come in today, that's about it...they're still chasing here, but it's gun season right now so I'm stuck in the archery areas until gun is finished..

If my math is correct, he gave us the points but your name isn't there. I would send him a quick message, incase us uses those numbers to add up future scores next time he adds up entrees.

Close but no cigar is the theme of my season this year.

This morning, I was drawn on a buck and waiting for him to take one more step into the shooting lane which he never did.

He ended up leaving in the opposite direction.

Disappointing but the encounter still got the heart rate up.

Beautiful morning for a deer hunt. Low 20s for the temp, clear sky, calm wind, rut in full swing.

Who says Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year? I disagree.
