What part of south central NE are you in? I'm on the Thayer/Nuckolls/Kansas boarders.

Franklin,Harlan,Webster, and furnas counties. We have already found 10+deer on our properties with ehd. Called the local game warden to check them out and he was 99% sure it was ehd.

Yuck. The EHD is getting too close to home.

I never found the buck I shot. Couldn't find either the arrow or any blood. Here's hoping for better luck next time.

How was everyone's hunting this past month? I wasn't seeing many big deer on there feet that first week of November but right around the 10th, they were all moving! Was after this big 10 point all week leading up to firearm but was always in the wrong stand. Ended up getting him with the rifle at 15 yards! Shot a nice big doe 10 minutes before him at first light. Hope everyone else was having good success. I heard it was a good year across the state.

Great deer guys. Congrats to you all. I ended up eating tag soup this year but it was pretty much self imposed. Was holding out for a mature 150" or better and just couldn't get him close enough with the bow.

Was tempted a couple of times with some 3.5 yr old 140 deer but stuck to my guns. We have been working really hard to get the age class up on the ranch but wtih them being a free range deer, cant stop the neighbors from harvesting a good young buck.

Oh well, in to turkey (and cabin fever) season.

I was wondering the same thing but they haven't announced any dates yet. I honestly hope they move it back to January or February next year. I heard they cancelled last year because they couldn't get enough vendors to come in July. I think a lot of vendors are busy in then and getting ready for the upcoming deer season. I think I'm going to the Iowa deer classic in march so I can still get my hunting expo fix

Read my local paper the other day, and I see the game and parks found a case of CWD in one of the counties I hunt in. That's not good at all! Found 3 cases in 3 counties in Nebraska.

That's bad news. I suppose it was just a matter of time before it got here.

What counties did they find it in?

I through the paper away but the Only one I can remember is Harlan. The other two I think we're in the northeast.

That's getting close to me. Still a couple counties away but that will change I'm sure.

How's everyone's season going so far? I'm just curious what everyone is seeing for buck activity with these October cold fronts we've had?

Little bucks have started to chase, even on my cameras the last two weeks you can tell the little bucks have been chasing.

I've been tracking a decent 8 point buck on cam on public land looks like he hasn't started chasing yet just seeking.

I haven't seen any bucks in person yet. Not from the stand anyway. I have seen evidence of buck activities, however.

I'm wanting to put my camera out in a new spot but I'm waiting for the corn to be harvested first so I can get there.

Been here since November 1 in SE Nebraska and some small bucks bumping doe around about it. Hunting public and a lot of hunting pressure more than I was expecting. Didn't have as much back in 2012

I just saw a nice buck chase a doe across the highway when I was driving home. Looks like the rut is about to hit full swing. I wish I had one more weekend to bowhunt before rifle season opens.
