My #1 target from last year has returned. Been trying to kill this deer for 3 years. G3 should be in the 6+ yr old age and will be tough to kill. Praying that I can end the quest this year. Should have a nice cold front and a decent wind this weekend to go after him.

Awesome!! And he's out during daylight too! I was looking at the weather yesterday and let out a gasp when I saw the temps. I think this coming weekend may just get the pre-rut going. I need it baaad too, I've been skunked thus far.

I'm going to hunt for does on another farm in the mornings and hunt G3 in the evenings. I snuck this cam in a week ago real close to where I thought he was bedding. Really have to watch my wind here.
Really hope the cooler temps get him on his feet early.

Get after him Chris. He looks like a brute with some awesome character.
It's fixing to heat up boys and girls.

First frost this morning brings my first sit in my honey hole. Scraps are really heating up on this ridge connecting two bedding areas. Good luck to all those that are out. [IMG]

Saw nothing this afternoon but it was a nice day. Will more than likely try again in the morning since I am now getting morning pics. I finally had a shooter show up and he looks like he is already broken up. Only one pic but least he traveled through and thats encouraging.

I'm looking forward to getting out next week.
My shoulder is coming along - I'm shooting 3 arrows/day now.
All I need is one... right?

My season has been a complete dud so far. I am just not seeing deer. It's to the point that I'm extremely baffled and almost depressed about it. I don't know if this is a sign that things are going to get crazy and I'll see deer all over during the rut or if something is spooking the deer off and this year will be a complete dud. Deer poop and prints all over, just no sightings. Time will tell...

I know, it's just discouraging after all the hard work we've put in this off-season.

Well team. I just wanted to let yall know I'm sorry for not being on here lately. Just been really busy since I got back from my 2 week Colorado trip... but I have managed to get out in the woods a few times in the last couple weeks. All I've seen so far is a bunch of young bucks that will have great potential in the next couple years. But nothing worth taking yet. Hopefully in a week or 2 the big boys will start making their presence. I was able to take a doe this past Saturday though!

Don't let em get in your head Doug. It'll happen. If it don't, then those bucks will have one more years growth on em.

    Doug,
I get it brother. Due to one reason or another I have had the opportunity to hunt half the time I was able to last year. This is finally one of the years we have somewhat of decent temps and not 80 degrees in October. But it will work out we just need to keep at it and it will all come together. That magical time will be here before you know and we will have bucks every where loosing their minds. :tu:
