I love the crushed sugar beets. I usually spread out a whole bag really thin the day before, prior to them coming into my area. Then I'll pour another bag in the morning in 3 decent sized piles before getting in my blind. Works wonders!!

Another cheaper alternative if you can't find it at your local store, is sliced red apples. Even if they have never seen or smelled apples, they will tear em up.

Do you think a mature buck can be killed off bait in November? Headed to Ohio first week of November, new lease, no scouting, going blind. Learning year but willing to try something, if for nothing more than doing some camera surveys.

Well to be honest it would be tough but ur in luck bc u can sit anywhere in the woods in ohio during the rut the bucks travel a lot of places. If i were u I'd set a few cameras and go get the food. But i forgot to tell you thwy canceled deer season this year in ohio so wouldn't bother coming hahahaha

Ill be there buddy! Driving from VT on the 28th down to Pike county. I know of a 160 that got passed on by a friends wife because she wasn't comfortable with the shot that was presented. He's still alive as far as we know. Big timber tract, should be fun, and next year will be an educated year!
