Yeah at the western part of the properties.(Video was the eastern part) My parents have 79 acres and I also have 2 other 75 acre adjacent properties to hunt. It has been in a swamp area since I have taken this video. For not much land I have my eyes on about 7-8 shooters.

This is one of about 6 to 8 bucks I am after. He is the 2nd biggest around so far and living close by also. Remembering he is velvet, any guesses on the score of this giant ?

He looks awesome. Id love to see you get to measure him for a real score. I'm pretty horrible about guessing but for the hell of it I'll throw a vague range out, maybe 160ish +\- up to 20. That should cover enough I think I should have hit it. Good luck on him or better yet your number one around

Bear opener was both awesome and failure. Had my biggest from pics check me out at 20 yards then later come in at 4 or 5 yards but couldn't get a draw as he came in then turned and busted me and made it out safe. Probably most amazing experience hunting so far, Woulda been insane to have taken him. Hopefully something comes together. Got a video to remember my almost success, and cry over for a while...

Hopefully he comes back, or any other shootable one Id take. That site was hot since a few hours after first bait was put. Including Cubs had maybe 8 different bears with all kinds of daytime action til three days ago. Its been fun and frustrating anyway.
Here's the last pic of the Cubs showing up. One of my favorites

Big guy was through during night time. Another contestant decided to stroll through.
Here's a snap shot from the trail cam, video is sweet from it so I'll try and post it later. No hand cam, just had turned it off thinking she was gone then she snuck up behind me, and right under my stand and into the bait. I was gonna get the camera rolling again but had the trail cam on video mode right there so decided I wasn't gonna chance it.

Shot her at 614, didn't get back til 11:00, caped her and cleaned for processing and finally get to relax. In the past two days/hunts those have been some of the greatest rushes of my life. She's not a beast, maybe couple years old and measured 57", should be maybe 225 or so. She'll taste great and make a nice addition to a log cabin I'm finishing up now.
Now can focus on getting ready for deer
