Need trail cam help

Hi every one im looking into getting my first trail cam and wondering whats some of the brands I should be looking at or stay away from. the cam im looking at the moment is the Moultrie D500

There's literally dozens to choose from and everyone is going to give you a different answer. Like most thing you tend to get what you pay for. I have a covert that works perfectly and two older(ish) stealth cams that suck. There's probably a lot of people that have stealth cams that work great and a covert that doesn't. So who really knows...

 

What's your budget?

The 2015 Bushnell Aggressor has phenomenal ratings and I have been testing one for my friends with excellent results. This cam should have the folks at Reconyx concerned........and I myself own a Reconyx

 

I personally run browning cams & they are the best for the $$...the Spec ops is my favorite I think I paid $149...Strike Force is also good. I've had some Moultries that I might use for a boat anchor. I've been wanting to try a covert mp6 or 8 black.

I would check out the stealth cam p22.I have one and it seems to work great for the money.Or the covert mp6

 

I also have couple of the p22 they work great! The p18's have a outstanding battery life! Ran 7 of them from Jun 2014 to mid march 2015 on 3 photo burst 5 sec delay with out changing batteries once! Best trail cam for under $110 IMO!

 

with just starting out I don't want to go crazy I say $100 the most right now

 

I'd spend the extra $20+ and get a G42NG Stealth Cam, the G30 is right at that price point though and a lot of people love them too.

 

G30>P18 and can be found at the $110 price point. Check on eders.com, they usually have them for $109ish.

 

I totally agree with this. I purchased an Aggressor this year along with a Browning Strikeforce. The Browning is a good cam but the Bushnell is a GREAT cam. It's infinitely adjustable as far as settings go. I'll be getting more in the future.

I also run the new Cuddebacks and like them as well. I won't buy any "cheap" cams anymore. You get what you pay for

I'd argue they aren't "great" until proven reliable past the first year, I've had a terrible record with Bushnell and Cuddeback and for the price, that's inexcusable when others have great cams that are proven reliable for multiple years. Hopefully they've improved that much, we'll see.
