Will let's see. Rain, rain, water, flooding, rain, downpours, and rain.....haven't been able to do much lately
We finally got a break for a couple days of drying and was able to go in and plant last of our plots and mow our clover plots. ugh then as we were checkin trail cams and here comes mother nature and rains on us...
Well I checked a camera at the pit....3600 pics to go through. I will hopefully be starting one of my fall food plots this week. Got a 1 acre plot to mow so I can spray and plant mid August
Ohh boy I love this time of year! Several bucks I know from the past seasons on the camera check. Pretty boy and survivor both are still around....I'll post pics in seperate thread. My #1 buck from last year, broken beam, has not shown up yet...but last year he didn't show up till August so I'm not worried yet.
I took advantage of the nice weather this afternoon and hung a new stand. It is a funnel on the top of a hardwood ridge. In the spring I did a selective hinge cut to block deer traffic from walking downwind of where I wanted the stand. It took quite a bit of trimming to be able to shoot, but in excited about the spot. It should be killer
Finished set My access to this stand is perfect. A big cliff from the mining is only 40 yards to the north. I can climb the cliff on a south wind and pop into my tree with no chance of a deer coming from that direction
Well I finally had time to put in some work on the place yesterday. I mowed my lanes which were getting overgrown. Mowed my biggest fall food plot area so I can spray it in a week or so, and I trimmed shooting lanes for a couple stands, replaced mineral site, and checked a camera...4065 pics and 3 shooter 4 year olds...
