I know that we have a lot of fishermen on the board, but how many of you saltwater fish? Surf casting, inshore or boat. Post up some catches. Here is one of my best blues. Caught him surfcasting off the jersey shore.[IMG]

I haven't gotten out in NY yet this year but I should in a couple weeks. I did get out during spring break in Florida though. The fish on the left is called a triple tail and is rated to be better then grouper which is true and the other one is a Red fish. Sorry for the bug net and stupid face but man those little no-see-ums were driving me nuts.

I've caught a few stripers on Long Island this year. Didn't get any pics though

I've got my striper and blue lures narrowed down. All of these produce fish consistently. I've got some variation in size and color but this is the general assortment. I also do a lot of bait fishing. Surf if pretty rough where I fish so I use a 4-6 ounce pyramid sinker on a fish finder rig with a circle hook with cut or whole bunker and live eels.[IMG]

Hey ruger, I just checked a striper migration map and it looks like there are some 30lb stripers all the way up the Chesapeake.

AT you should check out raritan bay and sandy hook. Not too far from NYC and they are blitzing now. According to migration maps the ones from the Chesapeake should be up soon. You need to get past the blues if you want some stripers but it's not too bad.

Yeah, the flats are a big spawning area. Lots of big rockfish in the bay every spring.

I only get to go once a year when we are in Florida. I have a guided Tarpon trip booked for June23rd. Should have some killer pics up after that.

I was out last weekend with a buddy.. I reeled in a 34" Rock and had a, what felt like, a much bigger Rock before that, but it got off about 10' from the boat. I'm hoping to go out again with him in a week or so. For those in other areas of the country, Rock fish is Maryland's name for stripped bass in most other areas of the country.

I haven't been in years, but I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE tuna fishing. I have gone out with a group of guys and we caught 12-13 yellow fin and did a small group and caught a 90# blue fin (seems tiny now after watching Wicked Tuna.. haha). Also loved sharking, but biggest catch was a 5'11" black tip.. was looking for mako or thresher. Also enjoy surf fishing at Assateauge when I go to OC area.. but haven't caught anything but croakers and had my bait stolen by whatever.. guessing blues.

Most of my fishing is surf. Nothing better than surf fishing for blitzing blues and stripers. Heading out this weekend for stripers.

Ya ive been thinking about it but I was busy with school until this past Thursday. I like to fish Little Neck and oyster bay mostly since i live like 5-10 min away Little Neck and 30 min from Oyster. Ill be turkey hunting this weekend so no fishing for me just yet.

Ive been to Montauk a couple times like 9 years ago in september but I was only 10 and we didn't know anything about surf fishing with lures.

And thats a beautiful reel! How much did it set you back?
