Im in the look for new arrows for this season and am wondering which I should go with. Im only shooting about 220 fps so if thats changes anything between shooting a regular size hunting shaft or micro shaft I would like to know. I like the Victory vaps, my next thought is the Gold Tip velocity hunters. Thanks for any info you can lend, id also like to know what you have had good luck with. Thanks
I believe Easton axis considered micro diameter, that is what I shoot with and I have been very happy. Two deer and one bear, all pass-throughs.
From manufacturing the raw carbon to making the complete arrow you can't go wrong with Victory Archery's Victory VAP.166 Elite V1 arrows. Super high straightness tolerances and they're not as affected by wind in the longer shots as the more traditional widths out there. Their only draw back for some is the price, but I think you get what you pay for.
What kinda bow are you shooting and what's your draw weight and length? You can also google the Victory VAP arrow compatibility chart.
Using your info the Victory VAP selection chart says you should shoot their 450 spine arrows. But even they say this is an approximation, so I'd check with your local pro shop just to be sure.
One thing to keep in mind is that with any arrow other than Easton, you'll have to shoot insert/outserts because Easton has the patent on Hidden Insert Technology. The HITs are IMO the best system for small diameter arrows.
HITs will fit in any .204ID shaft. GT kinetics, BEA Rampages, several Beaman shafts that are .204ID, some Trophy Ridge shafts. Along with all the Easton 204's... Torch, axis, FMJ, some ACC. standard thread HITS will NOT fit true mico Diameter shafts, .165ID shafts. Such as injections, injection a/c or VAPS and BEA deep impacts. You can however use thin ferrule deep 6 HITS ...or full outsert. Real Micro diameters shafts (.165) are way more trouble then they are worth because your stuck with either full outserts or deep six inserts... Your best bet is to stick to .204 shafts that allow you more flexibility in that your can use HITS or some of the very nice SS half outs like BEA or Firenock.
I would Highly reccomend the Beman Bone collector MFX arrows I have shot five deer with them all complete pass throughs and the arrows were suprisingly tough
Your best option IMO would be the Easton Injexions. The VAP's are similar but not quite as durable, and they aren't made in the U.S. like Easton. As far as penetration the VAPs and the Injexions are both going to give you the best penetration on the market currently. A word of caution on the VAPs is the "outserts" they use bend and break really easy. Have shot both and the Injexions are better. IMO. Good luck on your decision. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The Injexions deep six insert is the HIT inserts, just shrunk/smaller diameter. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
