i keep kicking around the crazy idea of tweaking what i know to work...i love slick tricks; they've not ever failed me...but two broadheads stick out...the TT ATAC and solid broadhead...i didn't change last year or the year before...but maybe this year...maybe

And what does it hurt to gather more information via first hand experiences?

Different applications maybe more appropriate for different conditions and situations. Being one dimensional limits those experiences.

Some shoot a fixed blade, some don't. In windy conditions a winged fixed blade(like a Badger Broadhead) will not be affected by planing like a standard fixed blade would be(Magnus 2 blade)

Yes simply if your scope is limited you have no comparison.

Without a doubt different broadheads excel in different situations.

For example, large mechanical heads that are so popular with whitetail hunter from elevated you might find aren't the best design for that application.
Steep angles and often thick cover a solid COC our even a trophy tip fixed blade would most likely be better choice. If you didn't try and experience the difference you might just continue to assume what you doing is good enough...however it can improved on.

Shoot a big trocar tipped muzzy into a scapula of an elk and compare the results to a single beveled COC head or even a double beveled COC with a thick blade that won't roll over? Don't think there will be a noticeable difference...I do.

Take those same COC or fixed blade heads to open county with stiff winds..on thin skinned game like Caribou, lopes, open county deer...you might find a smaller sized mech head is just the ticket shooting from the ground in the wind.

The truth is most hunters don't kill enough game in a variety of terrains and conditions to begin with and buy limiting the scope they loose valuable opportunity to experience and learn.

Going to play with the dirt nap double's. I had a hard time re-sharpening the single bevels. I've been accused of being a dummy before, but never could seem to get them quite sharp enough to my liking.

I still have a few 100g rage HDs left so I'll use those. Thinking of switching back to fixed blades though, Magnus stingers, but the rage hasn't given me a reason to switch back yet!!
