I'm a dealer through Pape's and was going to place an order for some inventory. I noticed Slick Tricks are in the discontinued category. The standards, Magnums, Viper Trick, Razor Trick and Grizz Tricks are all discontinued. I wonder if they are just changing the packaging since they were bought out by The Outdoor Group and that's why they're discontinued? Or, are they getting a new name? The Outdoor Group owns Solid and Slick Tick now. Are they rolling them into one company? Anyone know anything?
Nevermind. I just noticed they are changing the packaging and going to a 4 pack now. New MAP is 39.99.
I would prefer 6pks since I always carry 6 arrows.. I know there is one company that does 5pks close but no cigar..lol
I carry three arrows so 4 packs are awesome. Leaves one for practice Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I also saw a video from the Slick Trick booth at ATA that they are expanding to a 10-pack as well. Not sure why? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTTMQVrwH-k
So nice I'm hunting whitetails and can only shoot one per day I saw no reason to carry more. Less weight and if I need 3 shots for one deer then I need to reevaluate what I'm doing in the woods. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm a die hard Slick Trick guy. The heads themselves are in my opinion as good as you'll find. But I really wish they would start doing a couple of things. 1. Include practice blades. I usually just keep my old nicked up blades from shooting deer to use, but it would be nice to have some practice blades included in the pack. 2. I wish they would sell them in 6 packs. I did see they're offering a 10 pack this year also and if the price difference is right, i'd buy them over the smaller packs in a heartbeat.
I was just about one pissed off dude when I read this. The I thought there is no way that's right. I hope the quality holds up. If not I'll be heading to Dirt Naps I guess.
I just remember seeing it a few different times when loading all the ATA videos. I don't remember which ones off hand.
Though I really like the Slick Tricks, I've found the blades to nick up easily. I can re-sharpen and re-use my Muzzy MX-3 125 blades easier.
Couger, I'm really shocked to hear that honestly. I am a convert from Muzzy to Slicks. The two biggest reasons why are the heavier duty blades and all steel body of the Slicks. The ST blades are .035 thickness vs. Muzzy's .025. A quote from another site... Most broadhead blades are made of 400 series blades, 400A, 420, etc, which is a lesser quality blade like you get in cheaper knives. A few blades are 440C, and that is a higher quality blade, and what you would want if you were using a 400 steel. Most won't pay enough to get custom knife grade blades so they have a higher profit margin. As to Rockwell, Mercedes blades are 56 plus or minus 1, made by Lutz same as they make surgical scalpels for surgeons. When Trick blades are called scalpel sharp, thats no exaggeration.
