Oh yeah...you plan on sending a larger than necessary round out of that new toy of yours in hopes of splitting a yote in two....I expect to see pics!!!
Only those that dare come into the field behind my house...and they do... I use a .22 mag now. Gotta keep the shots relatively close ....I need to get a New rifle for predators...suggestions?
I finally killed the Unicorn buck. I really wanted to take him with the bow and got very close a couple of times this year, but finally got it done with the muzzleloader. I let him go twice last year within 15 yards with the bow because I wanted my son to get him, but it just never worked out. His unicorn tine had actually morphed into a common base this year that is probably 9 inches or more. Unfortunately, the unicorn tine was broken off as well as the left main beam. But, he was such a bully to the other deer on the farm that I decided it was time for him to go. I watched him for quite a while on an evening hunt and considered letting him go because of being so broken, but when two nice young bucks came out ant he chased them off, my decision was made. Here are photos of him from 2011 to 2014. I kind of hate that he is gone, but I am anxious to see what will show up in his place.
Nice buck Fletch! My hubby got his first elk. We have really busted our butts to fill a cow tag. We still have two tags left but tying to go up and down the hills in this deep snow is hard work. We may throw in the towel with one cow down. We're pooped. Next time... Snowmobiles.
It is called the "last feast". It is an old German tradition I believe that my wife's family has done for generations. Basically paying tribute to the animal you have killed.
