That's what I was wanting to hear. I was part of the winning teams for sheds and turkeys. I'm looking forward to try and pull off the sweep this fall.

Looking good Heckler, going to be a great mount. I shot a pretty good ten last night, so guess my season is going pretty good!

Looking good Heckler! I won't get my bird back until January. I get my bobcat back next week, so I'm looking forward to that. My deer season has been extremely slow. I killed a doe early, but I've been working quite a bit lately. I have about 2 weeks off starting next week, so I hope to get it done then.

Went out to the farm and cut a piece of timber for the mount. Here is an updated pic. Hopefully get it hung up in the house early next week.

Deer season is officially closed here! I'll be day dreaming about whitetails for the next 9 months. In the meantime it's turkey time! You guys getting pumped? I have some new properties this year that hold a lot of birds! I am excited!!! April can't get here soon enough. We need to defend our title!

In the mean time I have the full turkey mount on the wall. I think I am going to add some branches with some green leaves to give it a spring feel.

Looking good Heck! I'll post pics of my mount as soon as it gets home. Should be sometime this month, just waiting on the phone call. I'm anxious to see how it turns out....the guy does fantastic work. Those 4 beards sticking out of his chest are going to look great!

Love how that bird is sitting on the timber...how do you get the wood to keep like that? Did you put a spray over it?

Should be getting our bearded hen back around March/April. We have him strutting on a rock.

I sprayed it with a mat clear coat. The moss is fake, used it to cover the wires. We will see how long the wood keeps. For the most part it turned out how I wanted it. The feet were offset a little to much. Required a bigger branch then I would have liked to use. Thing weighs a ton. I should have cut a L out of the back side to lighten it up a bit.

Looks like ash to me. I believe the wood should keep indefinitely, as long as it stays in a climate controlled environment and isn't subjected to moisture. Is that the only bird you have mounted? I'd like to see pics if you have any others.

I have two Avian-X decoys I am going to part with. I believe one is a hen and the other is a jake. I will have to double check. There is nothing wrong with them. I just have too many of them... Let me know if anyone is interested. Thought I'd offer them to team members before I advertise them in the For Sale forum.

I am pretty certain it's walnut. Hard, dense, and heavy what ever kind of tree it is!

For those of you that are interested in the decoys: I will pull the decoys out this weekend and get back to you!

I have a feeder and lookout hen. I'll do $65 each TYD. Or $125 for the pair.
    I have a jake for $80 TYD
    or $200 for all 3.

They are mint, bag included. The only thing I can't find is the original stakes. That's probably because they are flimsy and they break. I will include a alternate stake. Pics on request!

Tomorrow is the big day. The quad beard is coming home! I can't wait to see him. I talked to the taxi the other day and we decided to slightly change the form. He's gonna be full on gobbling, tail back, feathers ruffled on his back on a pedestal mount. He will be standing in some yellow top weeds with a matching set of sheds from my #1 hit list buck from this past season. Can't wait!

This turned out really well. I'm super happy with the mount and the quality. The base isn't as big as I thought it would be, so I won't be able to put the sheds on it, but that's no big deal. Here are a few pics that I took earlier.
