besides your weapon of choice of course....lol

I seldom buy gadgets or magic potions..

    But

Last year I bought some of Dan Fitzgerald's deer dander and I have to say the stuff works great.. I guess it is similar to deer herd in a stick as it smells like deer and is not a rut scent..
It seems to work great year round as well.. I often spray it near my camera sites and start getting pics almost immediately. I spray it on my boots as I walk to the stand and have had deer track me to the tree.
I put it in my tinks scent bombs as well... So I would say it is the one thing I use every time I go in the deer woods.. The one thing I do hate about it is the spray bottles suck and will get all over your hands when you use it..

My rangefinder. I learned a 160" class lesson in 2013 and ate my buck tag at the end of that season. I hope I never have to use it on the fly, but during November in Kansas a shooter can come from any direction and it sure is nice to know the yardage before letting an arrow fly.

Interesting you should ask. :p I typically sport Vortex Viper HDs. I still carry them from time to time but have tried to strip as much weight as I can. You can sure feel the weight even with a good harness after a long day in the field.

This all started when my boy kept asking me to borrow my binoculars. I wanted something he could use and not break the bank if he lost or beat them up. And lastly easy to use!

I bought him a Vortex Solo 8 X 36 monocular. I liked it so much I bought the 10 X 36 (weighs less than 10 oz.!). I now carry this the majority of the time unless I know I am going to be spending a bunch of time looking through glass.

I then bought the 8 X 25 @ less then 6 oz! for my gear bag I keep in the truck. Bug out bag, get home bag, call it what you want....

To be honest I may swap out my 10X for my sons 8x as I think i like it a little better. Little less shake to it and I like the field of view better.

Best part even the most expensive model is around $110! I think I paid around $60 for the 8 X 25! They are a great value!

I will have to 2nd the harness and phone. I have walked back to my truck for my phone. If anything bad ever happens it would come in handy. I have never forgot my harness so I have never had to walk back to the truck for it.

    This x 10.

I just got one this year... I don't know how I lived without one. Sitting without it is now unbearable for me.

    Also my phone.

Never got this. My season starts earlier than most in early September and never once have mosquitoes been a problem.

And the one item I won't hunt without is my binoculars.
