I hunted last night, and I didn't see a single Deer. I will be back at it again next weekend, but I'm getting a little nervous. I'm running out of time. I will be shooting a Doe if I get a chance now, 50 points is better than Tag soup. lol

Well guys my season ends tomorrow and I didn't get a bow buck. I got a nice rifle buck but couldn't get it done this year with the bow. Sorry. I let some bucks pass that in hind sight I should or narrowed. All in all it was a great year tho, 2 bears, a doe with my bow, and a rifle buck. Freezers full, wife got her rifle buck and my son got his button buck. Def had a blast. Can't wait till spring to start all over again.

Congrats an a great season Rednek. I still have some hunting to do. It's been our most productive season to date. Between myself and my son(fishsoft92) we have 2 bucks and 1 doe in the freezer with archery gear. 1 doe with muzzleloader and got my buddy his 1st archery deer this year, a 112" 10 pointer. We made snack sticks and italian sausage this year for the 1st time and my daughter is planning on joining us in the tree next year. the wife may also go (just to watch and be together).

Welcome back!! Yep they say you needed the break down for your buck to count.? I think even with your buck entered we still need a few more deer to win. So either way.

Merry Christmas guys! I wish this Fall was not so busy with family issues as I feel I was not able to be on here as much as I usually do or would have liked to.

For all of the complaining here in IL about how horrible the state of the deer population is currently I had a great season. The 3 pieces of private land I hunt in northern IL I would agree with that statement as I only saw 4 deer over about 13-15 sits. The public land I hunted was outstanding overall. Other hunters complained about not seeing any deer and that the size of the bucks was way down. I wanted to tell each of these guys to do some scouting 'cause this was a phenomenal year for buck size due to a mild and wet Spring and Summer versus the droughts of '12 and '13. Each of these guys were set-up on field edges that were adjacent to the parking areas. I would walk an additional 100 yards to over a mile from these yahoos and had plenty of opportunities at deer to take aim at. For the 2014 season though, I am very blessed to have 2 bucks in the freezer and a doe taking up residence in my parent's freezer.

I am already SCOUTING for 2015 boys!

    Merry Christmas!

You got till sometime in January...dipping doesn't usually take too long. Welcome back bud! FYI for the state contest I'm counting your buck as GTG.

Thanks Ty! It's good to be back I still gotta catch up on who all shot bucks! My guy stays pretty busy with that stuff and said he won't be done for awhile I'm in no rush and I'm not going back up there to write down measurements of an 88" buck I think it was lol. It is what it is. Sorry boys

If nothing else, tell Fitz to apply the Fergie clause and get at least 50 points.

No need to be sorry. And Ty has a good idea. You can possibly get the fergie clause.

Is there a way you can call the guy where it is and have him measure it for you?

Well guys I made it out tonight, it was 1 above and -13 with the wind. I did see 5 Deer, 2 Does and 3 Fawns. It really wasn't that bad sitting either. Tomorrow is the last day of the season, and I will be out. I won't be to picky either, besides Tag soup sucks, I don't care how much hot sauce you put in it. lol.
