Ok, I haven't shopped for Broadheads in a long time. I'm looking for another Fixed blade to shoot some. I have been shooting Muzzy Mx3 and Magnus Stingers. Like the both, just thought of trying the G5 Montec. What's the difference in the regular Montecs and the Montec CS/Carbon Steel. Easier to sharpen?

    Thanks, Mark

if your even considering montec...your really missing the boat if you dont look a VPA's three blade terminators. The are machined out of a solid pieces of high carbon steel. They are about the easiest broad head i ever re sharped they are durable...you will be using it until you loose it.

If you want that type of profile in broad head then they are much better choice then montec, both versions of montecs.

They are american made, and the they guy that owns the company is class act.

The come in both vented and un vented..... He sells them on his sight he also has them on ebay also. the same price both , but i think the shipping is cheaper on ebay. I have used 100 Grain vented and the 150 grain unvented.

I'm assuming they fly pretty good? I have my bow tuned pretty good. I shoot Muzzy Mx3 great...so I guess these would fly just as good or better.

I have no issue getting them to fly well, like any other broad head you have to broad head tune most times. I was shooting them out of a 2010.5 Z28 and the shot fine. I also had them and Solids shooting to the same POI with a 2012 Answer.

The CS are sharper out of the package it seemed to me, but once you resharpen both versions of the montecs you are able to get em both insanely sharp. Good, solid BH.
