My buddy shot our #1 Hit list buck last night.! Hopefully it's a sign of big deer starting to move a bit more during shooting hours. I'll be out this weekend, looking forward to calling for the first time of the year..
Well how are the woods in your areas guys? Down in Barry county I had quite a few buck encounters this past weekend. Scrapes being made and lips curled to the sky!
been hit and miss, have had a 4.5 yr old seven just out of bow range twice. second time he was following a doe in when soem neighbor dogs ran him off. just my luck! he is around 19 inches inside. nice deer, huge body. time will tell if i can get on him or not
I filled my tags.. shot a funky looking buck on Friday. Rattled him in and shot him at 35, great hunt and an even greater season.! Good luck fellas.!
Awsome congrats double lung Things where rocking the 30th - 4th after that it just shut down. Have a feeling the moon, standing corn, and bucks locking down had something to do with it. 11/2 had a encounter with a 4.5 year old buck I call Machete needed two more steps, 11/3 I had a encounter with the public land buck again.
Nice! It is coming down to the wire, may get out one more morning not sure, have had several close encounters, just hasn't happened!
Yeah I will get out on wednesday and then that will pretty much do it for my lease for the year. Things shut down once gun rolls around and the winter months. Just dont have the thick cover to keep them around. The public land is archery only so still should be ok out there even once gun rolls around. May help some even since some of the people will go somewhere else.
Pulled the camera out there the other day. Had the messed up rack guy show up again that Ive had two encounters with, A big old 9pt that last time showed up in daylight, and a new good looking 2.5 year old. Its a awsome spot just gotta hope for a little luck.
Yeah the one side looks almost the same haha Oh yeah had a encounter with guy sunday night. Last 45min of light it started snowing really hard and didnt notice this guy slipping behind me. He was about 70 yards out going from one thicket to the next. Had my bow so he was safe at 70. Hes another 4.5 year old and second year after him.
Well kinda of funny to look at this and see my last post. Little did I know I was going to kill that buck. Sunday evening I was able to put him down at 5:10. Heres a the link of the story and pics.http://forums.bowhunting.com/bowhunting-talk/68377-split-brow-10-long-read.html Make sure for the ones that have put one down already to enter it into the score card
