Hello fellow hunters, my name is George. I live in Crystal lake il. I have been hunting for 7 years now,got my first buck in 2012 a 10point 3 1/2 year old, not too bad for my first buck i guess. Well i met Justin from bowhunting by chance one day at Walmart, he was with his wife, at the time pregnant. My wife and i were also shopping and my dear wife cuts Justin off with her cart, Well me beeing polite i stop to appologize and guess who im saying sorry to, to make a long story short it was a good day for me. As a new member myself - welcome. I have never hunted before but have developed a passion for it over the last few weeks. I have learned alot so far from reading this forum and i have learned that i have A LOT still to learn. Looking forward to getting to know everyone on the site.
I'm from island lake and usually hunt out west. I got into Moraine Hills last year which was really nice. Anyone trying the Chain O' Lakes sites later this year?
I think ill try the chain this year. I got into morrains last year and in 2012. I didnt hunt it last year because i had a full season conservation hunt. I passed it up for someone else to get a chance.
It was nice and close to home, but right after gun season.... I'll try for the lottery again next year. Have you tried Kishwuakee river SFWA? I just checked there today, seemed really busy for 870 acres.... I'll give it a try late season anyways. Always gotta try and get an opportunity for stand time.
