We got no does. 1 seen in stand, 2 on camera, and about 10 bucks on cam just in the food plot, 2 being shooters. We've seen 3 different pairs of bucks running together, 2 of the 3 pairs have sparred a little, not fighting hard but definitely sparring. 1 of the pairs both deer were serious shooters (buck licked the other bucks face for 5 min straight? lol) Hopefully this should make for a real interesting rut, I'm just praying these bucks don't all run to the hills in a few weeks. Anyone seeing similar stuff or have experience with doe shortage on their property? We had some pictures of bucks sparring this early last year, but NEVER in daytime. -Jimmy
I'm seeing nothing but hamsters lol. Damn chipmunks and squirrels. I'm wondering how the herds are doing up here with the winter we had. We haven't had cold and ice ever like we did last winter. And my deer sightings this summer was lower then ever for sure.
My last pull (one week) was 35 pictures and only 3 doe. There were at least six different buck. Our biggest problem is the cold weather has them not moving. They're bedding and feeding. Seems most are moving between 2-5am.
3 sits this season, and only one doe so far. This has been the worst year on camera too. What deer I have on camera are all nocturnal. Hopefully some cooler weather get them moving during the daylight. Normally, I see deer on just about every sit of the year, so obviously I'm getting a bit frustrated and concerned.
About normal right now. About 75/25 doe to buck sightings. Should be great come end of October through November. Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S4.
I've sat twice this year and saw 3 does from stand the first day but they were 600 yards away lol. Last night was the 2nd sit and I shot the only doe that I saw 30 minutes into my hunt. Put out a camera at a new stand and got lots of pictures of does and 1 small buck. Almost all were at 8 am or 5 pm. Haha
We have a lot on camera but all the rain and wind has them moving at inconvenient times for hunting. I'm hoping the weather improves this this week and gets them moving at more opportune times.
In the last 48 hrs I've seen about 15 does from medium to large. 2 average sized bucks and 1 toad. None of them close enough for my sons to take a crack at. Tomorrow morning is our last shot at it
I have not hunted, been does and fawns all summer every 2 weeks a buck on cam. Until last week last 3 nights have an 8 on camera, but he is only 3. Not a single spike, fork or or 6 all summer, just the 8. I do have 6 breeder does and 3 fawns every night on cam
damn, some mixed results then- glad to see I'm not the only one with doe problems though. Our deer are pretty nocturnal still too- the deer we have seen in daylight, for whatever reason have all been bucks, mostly small, and they've all been hauling ***
Damn, and thats with a pretty good sized food plot too right? they starting to cut corn and beans by you?
