These bucks are pretty awesome and they all seem pretty young. This lease may be truly amazing next year if a few of these bucks make it.

Looks like I'll be working tomorrow. It's only my third year bowhunting, but it will be the first time I've missed the opener.

Thanks bud...now it is all buck time till late season. Opener worked out nearly to perfection other than the morning buck hunt RD didn't follow tendencies like I'd hoped...but when the wind shifted from southerly to East more so in my area I went doe hunting and it paid off no doubt. :)

Sounds like a plan that is working to me!! Good luck the rest of the way.

As for my weather here not so perfect. 5 inches of rain in last 48 hours - our October average is 3. Now big cold front moving in winds at 15 to 20 the rest of the day.

Will hunt in wind - hell any conditions I hunt when I can but never had a lot of luck in windy conditions.

I shot a buck called Trident one year in 15mph wind with gusts up to 30mph....it was crazy at times I was clinging the tree....luckily I caught a calm like 10mph time period when I shot. :)

BAHAHA....only did it though because of the close proximity to the beds that oak flat stand is in...I figured if he gets up to feed it is gonna be really close to the bedding and that was the closest proximity food location. :)

    Can’t wait for tonight’s hunt

Got a great wind to hunt this plot tonight.

A scrape has shown up on the southwest corner of the plot. I set a cam on it this past weekend. I have a tree stands sitting at each end of this plot. The plot sit east to west with a creek on the north side of it, and a thick hilly bedding area south of it.
Going to slip in pull the chip see what’s on it, and hunt the west stand tonight.

Hoping one of these two deer are the creator of the scrape and strolls in this evening.

I hope there is a news at 11 to report!

News at 11--- The good, the bad and the ugly!

As planned--- I was sitting in the killing tree at 4:30 pm – great wind and my quiet entry has me pumped!

At 5:05 a spike walks out at 60 yards and starts feeding. I watch him for several minutes when somewhere on a distant road a siren lights up our world. He throws his head up, and in an instant vanishes back into the woods.

A short while later an I see an old nanny doe and her two fawns at the far end of the field and they start to mow the oats. I was busy checking the pics off the cam I had on the scrape I mentioned and didn’t see them walk out They were just there when I looked up.

A D9 commercial appears real time and I am in it…

The landowner has been working on the back side of the damn of his lake for the past 2 weeks, and tonight. Yes; tonight he decides to put in an hour and half burning diesel fuel right before dark.

As soon as the beeeep beeeep beeeeep of reverse sounds off the field clears again!

Needless to say I didn’t see anything after he fired up that Cat.

On top of that all of the pics on the cam are of an old nanny doe, the spike and a 2 year old 7 point.

Checking in from Noble County. Was out yesterday morning. Sat in my stand for all of 10 minutes and had 2 does come in. Missed on a shot right under my stand because of a head covering issue (couldn't believe I did that). She scurried off about 10 yds and stood there for a few minutes. She finally came around to a shooting lane. 20 yards and I let one fly. See it hit and stick, she runs off and I lose sight of her because of foliage. Stayed put for about 40 minutes to give her time. Long story short, got down and looked with my son for 3 hours. Found my arrow but not the doe. Grrrr! Good sign on the arrow but no luck finding the deer. We'll see what happens today.

Spent 10 hours in a tree stand yesterday just to see one doe.. Moon is killing me. How about you guys?

Today I decided to move some ground blinds. Hope these sets provide some shot opportunities.

First buck from my lease is on the board...

Big congrats to my nephew MJ on taking this nice 10 pt.

Hoping to hear later today that another buddy finds this buck. He shot him last night right at dark and backed out until this morning.
