Good to hear! I may try to get out this weekend and take a doe also. I normally don't hunt for another three weeks or more, but I really need to kill a bunch of does this year.

Well, if there were any points given for a turkey, I would be on the board. I saw 3 deer this morning including a decent 8 point that come in behind me and busted me at 20 yards but no shots. I got 2 shots at turkeys and missed the first one but drilled the second one an hour later. My first bow kill turkey. I was hunting from the ground with no ground blind. Just a 3D leafy suit on. Hopefully I will meet up with that buck again pretty soon.

I got to my hunting spot pretty early on Thursday, got my gear together and headed for the stand. I was up in the tree sometime after 5:30 AM and was just waiting for sunrise. I was sitting a corner of a woodlot where a marsh and a CRP field meet. At around 7:00 am, I was glassing with my binoculars into the marsh to see if there was any movement through there. I put the binoculars down and turn around to sit in the stand and saw a 3 does 13 yards away. the lead doe had passed me and she was the biggest so she was the target. she got within 5 yard of my stand. She stopped and started being very cautious with her movement and that's when i realized that I had to take my shot soon as she knew that something was up. She started to double back to the front of my stand on the same trail that she came in on. While she passed, I drew while her head was behind a big tree and I stopped her with a bleat as she was walking through my shooting lane. I settled my pin and let the arrow fly. She mule kicked and ran the way she came from while the other 2 does ran the opposite way into the CRP field. I waited about 30 minutes to get down and check my arrow. When i checked the arrow I was disappointed to see there wasn't any blood on the ground and very faint blood with hair on the arrow. I decided to get back into my stand and just enjoy the rest of the morning and observe if any other deer would come through the area. I packed up and headed to the truck around 11:00 AM and decided I wouldn't take up the trail until at least 2 PM. I went back in to track at 3:30 PM. At first there was no blood, but about 30 yards down the trail she went there it was. A large amount of bright red blood, some small drops and then again a large amount of blood. the doe ended up going through some really thick thorn bushes and ended up in a marsh and I would have never found her if it wasn't for the help of a gentleman and his tracking dog who had a special permit to track wounded deer since it is illegal to use dogs for that in the area I hunt. I ended up hitting a little lower than i thought but I caught one lung and she went a little ways, but was stiff when I found her. Long story short, it's always better to hold up on tracking if you think you made a questionable shot and if you can use resources such as tracking dogs to help on the search I would highly recommend it. Now' it's time to get after something with antlers. Here are the pictures of my doe:

Close but no cigar!... Sat for the fist time of the season yesterday afternoon. Had three bucks, 1 140", 1 135", and a fork horn. Got to about 60 yds in an open swamp but never losed the gap. Great start. Congrats DL! Good Luck to all this week!

Well just dropped my anarchy off at the bow shop, I noticed yesterday morning after hunting that the lower limb is splintered, so they are gonna call bear in the morning and get me some limbs, hopefully I'm not down too long, I will break the longbow out and hunt with it until I get my wheel bow back. uploadfromtaptalk1412643630899.jpg
