      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Just wanted to see if anyone out there has any experience with electric smokers. I got a master built smoker for Christmas and am just getting started using it. I have tried smoking 2 pork shoulder butts to make pulled pork for a graduation party and both times it seems to have taken forever. I am now at 12 hours in the smoker at 155 degrees and temp of the meat is not even at the 200 that I’m shooting for before I pull it out. I did same thing last weekend and it took 15 hours. Is it common...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[Wife and I eat deer ~3 nights per week on average. Interested to see what kind of creativity as well as simplicity I can find from the community here. <br />

I’ll start it off, tonight is the reliable deer (neck) steak tacos. Some agree, some don’t, but I like precut my taco meat before I seal it. We have a toddler so anything to save time and dishes. <br />
<br />
Generally give it the simplest of “the works”; cheese, cilantro, red onion, avacado and Valentina....<br />

Every year in the past that I’ve ground venison the fat I’ve mixed in with it has always been just regular generic beef fat (IE a random mixture of fat from all over the cow or from whatever cuts of beef the butcher happened to be working on at the time.), but back in 2021 I got 3 pregnant wagyu heifers. One of their calves happened to be male and I made him a steer because it didn’t make sense...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I process my own deer. I do not make ground deer to freeze. I have a grinder and sausage making equipment  but rarely use it. I make my burger from  &quot;stew /burger cubes I cut or steaks. I use my food processor to &quot;grind &quot; the meat when needed. It just does something to it that , to us, makes it taste like ground sirloin. <br />
Well. Yesterday&#039;s lunch was a bowl of ground steak. I save all my bacon fat in the fridge  so before grinding I added 3 Tblsp. of bacon fat and two clovers of sliced garlic...<br />

      <content:encoded><![CDATA[I’m looking at these two meat grinders  at cabelas.  One of them is 400w for 130$. The other is a 1/2 HP for 400$. A horsepower is 746W so it appears to me the cheaper grinder has a stronger motor. Can anyone shed some light on the comparison between these two?<br />

  I&#039;m about to start my second season bowhunting whitetails on public land. However, I have yet to be successful in that endeavor. That being said, I am constantly practicing, reading and researching during off season.<br />

Wild turkey breast as much silver skin removed as possible . Cut into finger  strips, egg wash and then dredged it a combo of pork rind planko and a little almond flour seasoned with Italian herbs and garlic powder. Place in air fryer sprayed with avocado oil 400°10-12 mins.<br />
I had fresh garden corn, beet greens and peas as sides. Dipping was blue cheese dressing. Tender juicy and Oh so good!]]></content:encoded>
