My wife and I were married over the October 25th weekend this year, and we received the best present that night (in my opinion). We received it from my second family, my dads life long friend, that I grew up hunting with. At the wedding he pulled me to the side and pointed at all the presents and said, "see all those presents over there, those are pretty much all for your wife." Then he pointed at one on the ground and said "but you see that one there, that one is especially for you." I grinned and immediately knew it had to do something with hunting, but couldn't figure out what it was. It couldn't of been a stand, it was too small. It couldn't of been a feeder or trail camera because it wasn't the right shape. Well what the heck was it?? He then gave me a hint, he said "now you need to get it out quick fast because me and you have to"...his wife nudged and told him not to give it away.

My wife is very new to hunting, in fact no one has ever hunted in her family as far as she knew. Her grandpa did but that was well before her time. I on the other hand know almost nothing but hunting. I'm pretty sure I was born in a hunting blind... There are 2 season in my family, harvest/hunting season and planting season.

She loves the outdoors, loves the peace and quite of the woods and loves the beauty that God designed throughout nature. (She's a hunter in my book, she just hasn't figured it out yet). To rewind a little bit, she took up target shooting with a bow. A little something we did together over the summer, and has gotten quite good, shooting a consistent golf ball group at 20 yards. Now, fast forward to this weekend, she joins me as we check trail cameras and try to find a spot to put the new blind up. We agree on a spot, our food plot that we put in over this past summer.

We picked a location that we could easily enter and sneak out of if there happened to be deer in the plot already. Found some brush and brushed the blind in. [IMG]

After we got it all brushed in, she looked at it and said "I think I would like hunting this spot, and it's perfect for my shot yardage". Music to my ears! I'm hoping that we'll have some pictures soon of us hunting this spot with some deer. And yes, it a 2 person blind! My family friends bought it specifically for me to be able to take her so she could still move a little. I couldn't be more excited for this present!

Here's the food plot we've set up in. And a good sign. Beautiful buck following a doe.

That's awesome! Congrats on the nuptials and the awesome present. I hope to get my wife to this point one of these days. Right now she just has an interest to start shooting a bow. So i know i have a long ways to go!

    Chris,
That was an awesome story and wedding present. Its good your new bride supports and likes to hunt. My wife and I are polar opposites but she understands that come October I will be in a tree most weekends. ;)

    Good luck to you both.

Thanks brother! We're definitely polar opposites in other aspects but I thank God she loves the outdoors almost as much as I do! It atleast helps her to see a little bit into the mind of this ole boy!
