Well if you saw in the "live from the stand thread" I planned on staying home due to the 75 degree weather. Anyway to make things short decided to hit the woods. Glad I did because about an hr or more before sunset this buck came in. Havent had an oppurtunity and anything much bigger so decided to take him. Made an awesome shot and he went about 20 yds and tumbled over. Destroyed his lungs and heart. This goes to show when you don't feel like hittin the woods you really may be missing out on getting the job done. Sorry for the grainy pic.
Thanks guys. He's not huge but the property I hunt hasnt had much of anything this year so couldnt pass on him with it being my last year in VA. Will be in SC the next 3. And could use the meat this far into the season.
Congrats What's up with his legs? They look really dark. Not sure if he's partially melanistic or if it's mud. Hard to tell in the pic
Congrats! Nice buck, and it was super warm today! I wonder if all that wind and rain last night had him up and moving today?
