Hey guys, I started a little website/blog a few months ago just for fun and a way to fill some time in between hunts. I don't know the full direction I want to go with it yet but I am having fun with it so that's good enough for now. I came up with a new feature that I want to do that is a little different but I think if done properly will be pretty cool and help people learn something. Basically I will interview hunters just like you and me that have shot nice deer and walk the spot with them that they harvested the buck. Kind of trying to show how they picked the stand site and what led up to the kill. I have a few pretty cool ones lined up already for the next few months. I was just wondering if anyone is in the SW Wisconsin area and wants to share their story let me know. I can't really drive too far (maybe 1-2 hours) but I will try. I don't want to give away any secret spots or anything just a general idea your thought process. I know some guys won't want to let a stranger on there land and all that and I get it but hopefully enough guys think its a cool idea so I can do a handful a year. Let me know what you think and feel free to check the site out at theJourney or facebook/journey.the thanks guys
Thanks man, its kind of fun messing around with it and i'm trying to come up with something a little different. I think the Inside the hunt thing will be pretty cool if I can get some folks to participate in it. I already have a few friends gonna do it. The first one will be young gal from my neck of the woods that shot just a bruiser droptine buck last year. It should be up in a couple weeks I hope. I'd like to put up a few filmed hunts by the end of the year if I can get my stuff together. I appreciate the support and if you get a chance check out the facebook page and share it with some friends if you like it. Have a good one!
Very nice site. Clean and easy to navigate. I've wanted to do a blog type, but I currently manage my church's website and am building one for my home owner's association. Let me know if you'd be interested in sharing!
Thanks, yeah I like the clean look. If its too cluttered things can get distracting I think and people will wander off I am still trying to come up with content that is useful and people actually want to read and watch. I don't just want to regurgitate the same old stuff. If you get a chance to do a blog yourself go for it, it has gotten me to think about things from a different perspective. If you come up with something cool I definitely would share it on the site. Anything fresh and informative would work or a story from a successful hunt too. Have a good one!
Just what I don't need, another hunting site to spend my free time on!! J/K! Nice site!! I really think the hunter interview part will be cool. I'll definitely be checking it out throughout the year. Nice to see info/and deer from the same area of the state I hunt. Turkey season is right around the corner and hopefully I'll be sitting at the 1000 Island Bar having lunch, tagged out!! I decided to just start my own blog. The link is in my signature. Let me know what you think or if you have any advice.
Nope, Madison. I hunt around the area a lot though and a couple places north of there in Sauk Co. Sure wish I did live out there though, it would save me a bunch of gas money!! Sent from my XT901 using Tapatalk
Very nice site, I really like the layout and ideas. I will be checking in for sure, good luck on hunting those thunderchickens coming up.
