I didn't have any pics of me setting this up but with pics u can get a good idea on what to do. I put the tub on the rocks because I drilled several holes in bottom for water to drain out. Have only $20.00 in this setup. They are kinda scared of it at first but they will eat outta it.

I was making one last year until I read that they were illegal in PA. Still haven't found it anywhere, but I'm not risking it.

Nice set up though. Are those just plastic stakes in the ground?

I see the tent stakes is what you used for the ground anchor for the bungees, but what is in/on the tree?

I used tent stakes, 29 inch bungee but any size will do, a plastic tub from local hardware, and a shelve support to screw to tree.

I've never heard of or seen a ''shed trap''! :D

    Looks like it would work!

    Thanks for sharing!

Just wondering what the tub is for. Couldn't you just put the corn on the ground close to the tree?

I have never seen anything in the handbook about them being illegal either. I would like to try one though.

Not legal in WI. Bait/feed can not be in any type of container.

Take 5 green fence posts (before it freezes). Put them in the ground and make a 5-6' square with one in the center. Attach some chicken wire to one stake, the center and the next stake to make a big "L". Do the same with the other 2 stakes and middle one. This will look like a an "X" from the top. Pour feed in the middle. When they eat there antlers will hit the fence.

Has anybody actually had any luck with an antler trap?

My mother in law unknowingly set one up in her flower garden this year. She had some bushes she didn't want the deer to get so she put a chicken wire fence around the bush. Well the buck tried to eat the flowers surrounding the bush and got his antler stuck in the fence. We found the fence in the yard with an antler stuck in it about 2 weeks ago.

If you do not want to build an elaborate trap or if something like that is illegal I've seen others dump their corn (provided baiting/feeding is legal) in/around the branches of a deadfall or brush pile.
