My 2013 Bear Encounter showed up today so I snapped a few pics as I setup the bow from scratch. I'm very pleased with it so far! Its shooting perfectly through paper with almost no adjustments needed. Coming from an 11 year old High Country Archery bow, this thing is amazing! Extremely light and smooth shooting. So exciting seeing these at the door This is a left handed 60-70 model. I'll adjust the draw length to 27" and drop the poundage to about 64, right around what I was shooting last year. Wonder what's in here? Ah ha! Such a nice rest. Other accessories I picked up at bass pro last week. (TrueGlo quiver, TruGlo carbon xs sight, d-loops, peep sight, stabilizer w/ wrist strap, newest limbsavers) Getting the rest setup...and yes they installed the bear emblem upside down at the factory Going with a camo / green theme here, hence the camo cat whiskers (combination of green, brown & black) and white / green NAP quickfletch. She's shooting nice tight groups at 10 yards (shooting inside this evening) so all that's left to do is get outside, sight in and practice!
That will work. I'm trying to shoot a little before a 3D shoot this weekend but the heat has been awful. Sent from my XT901
Awesome! Congrats on the sweet set up. My very first bow was a youth bear compound (got rid of it a year ago) had the emblem upside down as well. Strange!
Sweet looking rig man! That's gonna be a great shooter for you. I wanna put some limbsavers on my Legion soon.
Very nice congrats! If that is like my Bear Element, that logo is held on by tape. You may be able to carefully peel it off and flip it over. That would drive me nuts LOL. I took my bear logo off recently after 5.5 years to paint the bow and I was able to get it off, it was kind of a foil sticker.
Thanks everyone for the comments! Has anyone had any problems with the QAD cable clamp? Just curious. I'm thinking about serving the cord into the cable rather than using the clamp. Just don't like a chunky piece of plastic sticking out and I'm not sure how it'll handle cold weather if it happens to smack something hard. They really do make a difference. I've added one of their first solid-limb models to my first bow and they really are worth the price! Really reduces vibration after the shot. These are the newest "broadband" clamp-type (for split-limbs) and they're performing just as expected. These were a no-brainer over the standard model with the price difference only being $8 or $9. Thanks for the tip! Nope just my trusty CRKT Ignitor. Just used it to open the packages
