    Thanks, WIll.

BTW....a local (NC) taxidermist was asking me which area we'll be hunting. L'il help??

Also....let me know when you narrow down the dates. I'll start trying to look for airfare deals.

    Looking forward to it.

Unit 45 Jeff, it is an OTC area. We will be hunting in the Holy Cross Wilderness Area. Google Mt. Holy Cross....

September 18th through the 26th. You might want to arrive here a few days early to get use to the altitude. We'll be using 16'x 20' canvas wall tents. You also might want to bring your own food since Dave Bailey plans on doing all the cooking.

    Will buddy...it's never too early:)

Please count me in...and let me know of anything you need from me to make this happen! Even if I just spend a whole week helping others pack out Elk...a week in the Rockies is going to be Heaven.

Also excited to see "Who's In" and getting to know them better leading up to the hunt...
...The excitement meter just went up a notch and it's only January...I won't be able to Thank You enough for making this happen!!!

This old computer of mine makes it very difficult to access youtube and the like, so I didn't see your links. Not trying to horn in, but if anyone here is interested in making an elk hunt in Colorado this fall let me know as well. I've already got the ok from the wife and I really don't wanna go where I went before, Units 25 and 26.

There ya go Matt, Cougar as hunting partner and road mate.

The door is open to whomever wants to come. The mountain is vast and hopefully the elk will be plentiful (no guarantees-it's hunting). I have two 16'x20' and an 8' x10' wall tents. I have a trailer which sleeps maybe five. If you're driving and can bring your own gear, then do so. I will reserve space for those flying in...

Since Radioboy will be doing all the cooking, plan on losing weight. In the past, I have purchased food/camp necessities from Costco and those in attendence have split the bill. I'm trying to make this as affordable as possible...

OTC Elk tags are like $550 (non-resident) and deer tags are $250 (this tag must be applied for prior to April 6th). There are a lot of black bear in the area ($250)...

Keep asking the question and I will do my best to answer.

Per your recommendation, I'll be purchasing an either-sex elk tag and the mule deer tag.

My expectations start and end at "seeing beautiful scenery". I'm quite certain you (and God) can deliver that.

Looking forward to it, Will.....and thanks for your hospitality.

Just to prove to you guys, no, there isn't an elk behind every bush in Colorado.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4SxxOTkfKPk

I'm sure there's a empty bush there some where....

Notice the bulls (some already missing their antlers) are lighter in color than the cows.

I am currently IN for some CO elk hunting this fall. Already working extra shifts to save up leave. KILL. Coffee is must. Questions:

    1) How do I get my bow and gear to CO?

    2) Who is going to make my bed each day?

    3) Who am I going to physically bully into processing/gutting/packing out an elk when I get one?

Okay, here's a link to some of my pics. A few of these are from my short trip in 2008 but most are from Sept. 2009.

    I hope that link works...

I can't wait for this trip! I'm ready for some camp coffee and some bs.
    VS,
    1. I don't know the best way to ship your bow.
    2. You don't need to make your bed, you won't have strength to unmake it befrore you get in it.
    3. I'll help you pack out your kill. You won't be wanting to waste energy or precious oxygen on physical abuse.
