Just saw this article on the Tucker buck harvested this past November. Should there be two categories for world record bucks? Hunter harvested and found deer? What do you think?

I am fine with it the way it is. As stated in the article the club recognizes the animal, not the hunter.

If you want hunter recognition, shoot them with a bow and enter them into P&Y.

Personally biggest buck on record. I'd care less, but getting one officially in the Boone and crocket record book with my bow under my name. That's a huge achievement.

    No shame there.

Just an amazing animal and something to be proud of knowing that he "killed" the largest deer.

I like recognizing the animal rather than the hunter. Not that the hunter shouldn't receive some recognition but the reason the record books exist is because of the animal, not the hunter.

I don't think I'd be disappointed to have the largest buck harvested, even if it lands #3 on the list. Amazing harvest to say the least no matter how you slice it.

I agree with it not being the world record. He is still recognized has having harvested the largest whitetail in the world fair chase, and that carries its own merit. I'm sure some day we will see the "Hole in the Horn" and "Missouri Monarch" beaten, but until then it is always great to see such an impressive animal harvested like the Tucker buck!
