While doing some bush work today, I come across a decent 10 pt laying dead in a meadow. Immediately, I believed it was the work of drunk poacher that lives a short distance away. The insides of the buck were not eaten but the skin was ripped off and the muscle was gone. From the amount of damage to the carcass, I couldn't tell if it was shot. As I went back to the farm we keep our trailer, I then found a large bodied buck dead in the front yard beside the drier/hopper. This buck had shed its antlers and was also found in the same condition as the first buck....insides not eaten.....corn inside the body cavity. There was also a lot of corn that was scattered around the drier. These bucks lay dead about 300 yds from each other. At this time, there has been no reports in Ontario of EHD, CWD being found. Any suggestions as to the demise of these bucks ??

Certainly could be the corn if there isn't much corn around there they can normally eat that time of year. They can't digest it in that case.
If there is corn raised in the area I kinda doubt that the corn would have been fatal. If it were the case you would have probably found other other deer most likely does and fawns laying around dead as well.
I think the corn is not good for deer. I know you can't feed them corn on winter but you can in April.
If they eat corn regularly it is a non issue. If they have no corn in there diet then they start consuming quantities of it (which usually happens in the winter months when we decide to feed them) is when there can be problems. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
If the deer are in starvation mode their digestive system has a problem digesting the corn, corn is not toxic to deer.
old wives tales, deer eat corn, deer have eaton corn as long as there has been corn---deer that are starving and there digestive systems are shutting down really cant eat and digest anything, So its not a corn issue 40 yeas ago der hunters said bucks rub hre horns and make a scrape then stand there and wait for a horny doe to come to their side to mate ! didn't work that way then for deer and still doesn't for humans
