Got a new buck on camera. He's kind cool. His mains almost touch. I'm pretty confident I'm gonna pass this year if given a shot but never know. Eating tag soup so far this year so you never know but I think he's 2.5 y/o so really need to pass to see if he hits 140-150 next year. I need a cool name for him also.

Call him that buck with mains that almost touch, good enough.

I have never named my own deer on camera but I'll try.....Unibeam.....like unibrow only.....well you get the point.

I agree with you on age.

Not keen an naming bucks, but see no harm in it either.

If that is the first image you have ever gotten of him, first frame in video then I would name him "Halo" since his beams give him he appearance of a hoop while using the licking branch.

Yes this is the first video I have of this buck. Lots of people drive by and have seen a buck in this area and have said it's the biggest buck they have seen this year. I'm running 6 different trail cams had no pics of "a giant" like they all were saying. Good buck but not a giant. My initial thought on a name was "Tips" but "Hoops" isn't a bad one either. Probably something basketball themed is the direction I'm leaning but keep the ideas coming. Thank you all.

I used to think the same until we started to keep track of deer to see how old they are. You can only say wide 8, tall 8 and so many 8's over and over until it gets confusing. So to that, if he has a halo, call him Gabriel. Cool angel name and a Walking Dead character.

I like Halo too. Amazing buck for only 2.5 years old. Love the longer G3's than G2's. Good luck and hope he makes it through the off season!
