I've been lucky and never transported a deer in my hitch basket while it's raining/snowing.
Should I wrap the deer in a sheet of plastic or would it be okay if I asked the butcher to rinse it off when I drop it with them?
Really don't want to get a call a couple days/weeks later saying half the meat was ruined by how I transported it.
    Thanks all. Good safe hunts.

We butcher our own deer, but when my dad drives we use a basket and we just rinse it off and it's fine, been doing it for about 10 years
