I've got a scent dropper hanging but the best timing I've got from him is 7:22pm. The 1st shot was 9:55pm, the next was 2:30am followed by 3:30am. The photo I've attached is from last night at 7:22pm. I had left that stand just an hour and half earlier. Any pointers to draw him into the daylight? I really thought the scent dripper would do it!! You really thought that a scrape dripper was going to make a buck show up? Do you believe in santa Claus?
This is my first year hunting ever, so I guess I'm gonna chalk it up to really "hoping it would work". Bowtech Carbon Knight 29DL 62DW Single Pin Peep Site
fool him October 1 i sit no scent or noise the last week of October i will rattle doe bleat grunt call and use scent If you know where he beds and can hunt the location you can setup on him and get him coming or going A good read on tactics Bill Vale pressured white tail Pressured Deer Pro | PressuredDeerPro.com In my setup i have bedding on both ends outside of my property that i can not hunt but i am a travel corridor
Eric, I may come off as harsh and perhaps I was but please understand a lot of the products sold to a hunter are gimmicks that do not work as advertised.
Find where he's bedding. Your date stamp is 7:22pm. He probably bedding 200-400 yards from there. Are you getting pics regularly?
Sota, I did not see your comments as harsh, rather painfully realistic. As I've stated that this year is my first year ever hunting and hunting with a bow (some say is even more challenging) I have an enormous amount of respect for this sport. I have also spent many hours reading, studying and learning from my older hunters in my family and am trying not to fall victim to gimmicks (although I feel in my pressured timeline I may have). I do feel very happy that I scouted correctly to get my camera in the right place and have properly set my mock scrape in an area close enough to get this guy coming back. That said his arrival times have been scattered at best. His first was 10pm then two days later it was 2:45am, then the next night at 3am and most recently at 7:22pm. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
Some other points I think are worth noting: there a is very steep hill to the West of my mock (by 15 yards) scrape loaded with Oaks that have been literally raining acorns for days now, to the East there is a paved street (very low traffic) then a pond. Both sides of the street are public hunting ground. What I've learned through getting to know other hunters is that most hunters in the area have moved away from bow in favor for firearm, due to their age. I'm the youngest hunter with a bow in the surrounding area & my bow hunting time is up on Oct 31st, that's my sense of urgency i guess. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
It dispels the "lull" myth if you buy the good brand corn. Lull away or lull be gone are great brands and worth the extra couple bucks a bag. The walmart corn...you might as well stay home.
