Missouri passin the crossbow refs this year have less than thrilled me. It does not protect the Bowhunter at all. But I have been on the fence cause my son is 9 and still can't pull enough weight on his compound. So being able to take him and have him connect on his first deer has been amazing. He smoked this buck yesterday morning and couldn't be more pumped

Awesome. Congrats. I got out this morning with my nephew and he connected with his 1st deer too(also with a crossbow). Not as nice as your son's, but still a great experience for all of us.

Congrats to your Son, and to you for guiding him. Please don't get him saying "I smoked him", it sounds so...

I think adopting crossbows is great for the sport. You have guys like me who still want to use a compound but due to my back injuries from being overseas it's not always practical to use a compound so I got a crossbow. I still fling arrows with my Hoyt when my body allows it but it gives the hunting community a great alternative to harvest game from natural sources and allow us to introduce children or elderly to the sport. Congrats on the whitetail
