I got this picture the day after I left right under my stand only 8 yards away. This was the only deer that came by this past weeks on cam. Grass is to long for me to guess the age so if you are able to give me an idea of how old he is I would appreciate it.

I think 1.5 yrs also. Would help to know what state you're in.

I'm in northern Minnesota. With his spikes being that long do you expect him to have good growth in the next couple years?

Just a youngin. You never know. Every single deer is different. You can take two 1.5 yr old spikes like that and the next year 1 is a small 6 point at 2.5 yrs old and the other is a 10 point. Genetics, food, etc. all play into what every deer develop as far as antlers.

My best guess would also be 1.5

Also I would consider those average length spikes here in PA. I've certainly seen many yearlings with longer spikes.

X2 looks like an average spike to me, making me think he is a 1.5 year old
