Ok I am having to use an atv top get to the woods this year any advise on what to get on the used market?
I just picked up a 2008 Can Am Outlander XT 800 with 2100 miles. I've put on ~300 miles in the last two weeks and I have zero complaints. I wanted a Can Am before I even began searching for an ATV. Engineers spent lots of time and money developing the Rotax engine that is in these quads and they can take lots & lots of abuse. Plus the fact that its a V-Twin = lots of torque =
The newer ones are all good. I'm a fan of Can Am and Hondas though. just had good luck. stay away from Hondas Electronic Shift though
Well, what exactly are you going to use it for? Occasional putzing in the woods, trail riding, food plotting or plowing? Will you be solo or with a passenger?
I'd rule out Polaris straight away. Ranger UTV's aren't too terrible but the four wheelers suck so much that you can't even keep paint on surrounding items...they just suck that much. I have a 2005 Suzuki 700KQ and have been happy with it. Honda, Yamaha and Can Am are all good choices I think. I'm not even sure what Kawasaki is doing these days except their new Mules seem pretty sweet.
I agree on the Polaris. I'm a fan though of Yamaha but they can be a little cold blooded. Hondas reliable also.
Honda. Do yourself a favor if you go 4 wheeler over side by side. Get EPS and independent rear suspension
Had a Kawasaki Bayou 220 and could get it to the top of the mountain and it was easy to pick up and move if you got in a tight spot. Small bike but you can get them real cheap. Also heard the Suzuki Eigers are great.
We had four of them on the ranch and had nothing but problems besides their performance was just pitiful. Have you ever had anything but polaris atv's? The four we had all were pretty new and had stupid low hours on them too.
Hm, maybe it's a thing where they need to be used quite a bit to be appreciated, the ones we had on the ranch were hardly ever used. Dunno but every other brand I've ever had experience with I liked a lot better. I have an uncle that had five Polaris atv's and they were just like the four we had on the ranch...just junk. He was happy with them, I guess it's a matter of what a person is used to.
2010 Polaris Sportsman 550. Bought it from a dealer in the spring of 2015. I use it for pulling deer from the woods, seeding food plots and just general riding around so far I am please with its performance.
Sounds like you've had issues if you've been through 7 lol. Just kidding, multiple family members I'm assuming?
2005 Yamaha grizzly 660. Bought new in 05. Like stated above cold blooded as all heck. After 5 minute warm up it will fly. Maybe only around 500 miles on it. Use for pulling out deer, plowing the driveway and the kids tool around the yard.
