I was just curious when the bachelor groups in y'all areas broke up. I've always wanted the thrill of having 3,4, or 5 bucks come out while I was hunting. I hunt in Kentucky so our season starts early September so I'm hoping to get a chance to experience it. Would just like to know your all's knowledge with this and where your from. Thanks

Around here it seems to happen just about as soon as the velvet comes off. You sometimes see a few younger bucks still hanging together after but not many.

In one area around here the young ones stay together most of the year. The big boys will split up, like eg says, around the time the velvet comes off then get back together after the season.
At our place, it appears that they are never together, granted the deer density at our place isn't near as high either.

When the velvet comes off and the testosterone starts to go up that's when the bucks split up. Around our place the little bucks will stay together for awhile but the more mature bucks will split up.

Just like others said. Pretty much after they lose their velvet. Although I had a couple small young bucks that stayed bachelored up through the entire season last year.
