From Texas and moving to PA. I was wondering where the best white tail hunting is in PA. I will be moving up there this fall and wanted to know where I should look for a house to kill some monsters?

Stick to the burbs, the state typical was killed in Pittsburgh, lol. Stay away from the big woods and closer to the farms.

The game commission sells a $6 record book that might be worth checking out. Google: pgc big game record book

Where in PA are you moving to? Not Texas, but it's still a big state!

Any state that allows only shotgun for deer have dandys, but rifle areas. That's hit or miss especially it's the northwoods

I always believed, the biggest bucks don't get big by being dumb, I'd say near suburbs but real close to homes. Just people don't see them much.

Living in Pennsylvania myself i would say try to get some place with some land. I hunt mostly the northern half up by New York State. We have had some nice bucks go through there. I live down towards Harrisburg and have a small lease and i have one or two running around that have my attention. If you have your own land you can do crops and run a better management than hunting public. Pa public land is pretty saturated but could have hidden gems if you put in the work prior to season.

Seems like the western part of the state is where they kill most of the big ones . But its getting better through out the state we do have lots of public land some of it gets hammerd but you can find areas to have all to yourself. 95% of my hunting is done on public land and I fill my tags most years
