I have been on a few out of state hunts and I am looking to do another in 2017. I have narrowed it down to Illinois of back to a place in Ohio where I have been before. So I am here asking if anyone has been or has any information regarding Illinois trophy bow hunters. You can't always believe what you see on websites so I am looking for and first hand experiences. Any info is helpful! Bow Hunting | Illinois Bow Hunting | Bow Hunting Illinois » Illinois Trophy Bowhunters
I just watched a video today actually that they posted on facebook of clients big shotgun kill. 140" minimum farm the guy said. The buck was a high 180". Never heard of them before today and now just seeing your post, curious as well.
I'm going for the first time end of October. I'll be sure to share my entire experience. I'm nervous, but the communication from Steve Phelps has been excellent so far. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Ohio Bow hunting Outfitters with Bill Pyles. Absolutely awesome place. I actually ended up doing a hunt at OBO last year and killed 2 hours into the first sit. I am also going back to OBO in 2017 and putting in for Iowa points in the meantime. Although Illinois is a great state I think every hunter dreams of hunting Iowa at least once. I do also have plans to making it to Illinois trophy bow hunters in the next few years. here is the buck I shot at obo last year
He was 135 and some change. Just scored him quick at the lodge since I had some free time on my hands being I shot him the first couple hours of the first sit. Great place to hunt with a ton of p&y type deer. Spent most of my time helping the outfitter check cameras and tweak stands after I killed
Score is just a number it doesn't feed my family. I'm not huge on numbers, sure everyone wants to shoot a booner including me but it is a very small part of hunting for me. The memories and knowledge gained and excitement from each hunt is what keeps me going out year after year. This was a special hunt because my dad was there with me, over time the hide will rot away the antlers will collect dust and I will probably forget what the deer scores but the excitement on my dads face when he gave me a hug and congratulated me will be burned in to my memory forever
The bowsite reviews are very positive. I wish I could go. Maybe in eight years after I retire (begin a new career). Can't wait to hear your report, MNardo. Good luck!!!
