Well after a year of passing on the smaller ones, the big guy finally messed up! I was sitting in my room doing dumb college homework when I looked outside to see two does on the far side of my woods eating beans. It was raining and a little windy, but the wind was in my favor. So, I decided to see if I could stalk up on them and maybe get a shot. So by the time I put all of my camo on and headed to the woods it was 5:30 pm. Mind you the woods I hunt is only 15 acres.
I headed out, intent on shooting a doe with my bow! As I'm stalking through the woods i would stop every once in awhile and look around always staying crouched down and only moving when the wind would really pick up. It helped that the rain had made everything wet so that the sticks would not break, but instead bend quietly. I got halfway through my woods on a deer path and decided to give it a thorough look around. The squirrels didn't even mind me as two were less than five feet away from me. About 100 yards in front of me I spotted a glimpse of some movement, thinking that the two does were moving my way. I clipped my trigger on my bow, getting ready. I looked at the squirrels again praying that they would continue to be quiet!! haha I glanced up to see movement right in front of me about 30 yards, to see this buck walking on the exact same path I am on right towards me. I was like shoot!! I need to think fast! As he was walking towards me, I pulled straight back so that he would not see the movement. (at this time I am not behind any trees of bushes, just wide open in the middle of the path) He then stopped broadside at 20-25 yards to stare at the turkeys that happened to be flying up to their roost right then. I looked through my pin and let the arrow fly!!! He ran about 100 yards and dropped! Double lung but not a pass through! Saw him running with the arrow in his side!

No fair, you can't just walk up to a deer like that and shoot it! You have to sit for hours and hours in the cold haha, congrats, awesome buck!
